GS Group and ITIDA Sign Landmark MoU at Global Offshoring Summit to Drive Tech Talent Exports and Foreign Investment
Under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and H.E Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Giza Systems Group (GS Group), a leading digital transformation enabler and systems integrator in the MEA region, announced the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to significantly expand its Global Delivery Center (GDC) activities in Egypt. The MoU was formally executed during the prestigious Global Offshoring Summit at the Marriott Mena House.
The three-year agreement establishes a joint framework for collaboration aimed at boosting Egypt's ICT services exports and reinforcing the country's position as a global offshoring hub. The primary focus of the MoU is to leverage GS Group’s GDC capabilities to drive international projects, directly resulting in the infusion of foreign currency into the Egyptian economy.
This strategic initiative aligns directly with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s Digital Egypt Offshoring Strategy.
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated: “The agreement with Giza Systems is part of a broader package with 55 global and local companies expanding their investments in Egypt’s offshoring sector, leveraging our highly skilled workforce, advanced digital infrastructure, and strategic geographic location. These competitive advantages strengthen Egypt’s position as a trusted global partner and enable companies to deliver world-class digital services, empowering enterprises to grow from Egypt to the world.”
"This partnership is a testament to the quality and readiness of Egyptian tech talent," said Ahmad Elharany, GS Group CEO. "Our Global Delivery Center is a strategic asset, providing high-value digital services across the full spectrum of modern IT and OT capabilities, including Cloud Infrastructure and Management, Data & AI, IoT, and Productized Application and Platform Development. Crucially, we also offer Support Services through Back-Office BPO services (Finance, Accounting, and HR) and Customer Insights & Analytics. We deliver these services to key international markets, including Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Libya, covering the broader Middle East, the GCC region, and Africa, with plans for future expansion into Europe. This partnership is vital to our growth strategy, allowing us to ensure our expansion directly translates into measurable benefits for the national economy through increased export revenues."
Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, said: “In ITIDA, we view each new center and every expansion as a commitment — a commitment to grow it, and to ensure it achieves its full potential. The MoU with Giza Systems, along with others signed during the Global Offshoring Summit, reflects the confidence of global tech leaders in Egypt’s vision and talent. Egypt has evolved from a service destination into a strategic global partner in high-value digital services.”
As part of this strategic commitment, over the three-year agreement term, Giza Systems will significantly expand its GDC operations, reaching an additional capacity of 1,950 net Egyptian employees that will focus on export-oriented, high-value services such as Software Development, Data Analytics and Cloud Services. The MoU will facilitate collaboration on recruitment initiatives, access to candidate databases, and specialized training programs to ensure the workforce possesses the advanced skills required by global clients.
The signing ceremony was a highlight of the Global Offshoring Summit, a platform designed to underscore Egypt's stature as a cornerstone in the global offshoring business services industry. The MoU demonstrates GS Group’s concrete commitment to the national growth strategies outlined by the MCIT. Further underscoring this commitment, GS Group CEO, Ahmad Elharany, was an invited participant in the Presidential Roundtable held on the second day of the Summit, which gathered global leaders to discuss the future of Egypt’s digital economy.
